Scott Christian - Music Direction
Scott Christian is an award-winning musical director, composer and pianist. As a composer, his original musical A Misfortunehad its professional premiere at the 2017 Charlottetown Festival. His first two musicals were part of the Toronto Summerworks Festival - Hero & Leander (2011) and Through the Gates (2012). More recently, his musical Dead Reckoningwas scheduled to be presented in concert Off-Broadway at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club in NYC (postponed due to Covid 19). He composed the score for Nobody's Children, Sticky Fingers, and Red Letter Day, commissioned and premiered by Yellow Door Theatre in Niagara. Scott co-composed the score for the musical burden of proof with La-Nai Gabriel which was part of the 2020 Sheridan College Canadian Music Theatre Project. In addition to composing for theatre, Scott has composed for video games, choirs, dance, short film, and animation.

Scott received his master’s degree in composition from York University, and he is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music for piano and composition. Scott currently teaches musical theatre performance at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto. Scott designed and delivered Storytelling In Song – Musical Theatre, a course that is part of Sheridan College’s MASSIVE (Music Applied to Stage, Screen and Interactive Visual Environment Programs). In his other life he designs video games with his company Hilltop Studios. |
Jen Cohen - Direction
Jen Cohen (Shuber) is an award winning director and choreographer,
dramaturg and writer. After an early start full time at The National Ballet of Canada, she went on to graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (summer program) and the Lyric and Book Labs at NMI in L.A. She is an alumnus of The Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals, the ASCAP Stephen Schwartz Workshop and Interlochen Centre for the Arts in Michigan where she is also currently on the Board of Directors of Canadian Friends of Interlochen. Jen has worked for most of the major theatres in Toronto including Soulpepper, Young People’s Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, The Harold Green Jewish Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Angelwalk Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times and many more. Jen has also served as dramaturg and/or director on new musicals for Sheridan College’s Capstone Project, Louise Pitre’s one woman show “On The Rocks” and projects by Jim Betts, Colleen Dauncey and Akiva Romer-Segal, Britta and Anika Johnson and Leslie Arden to name a few. She also served as program director of Theatre 20’s “Composium”, a composer and lyricist writing unit in Toronto. Jen has been nominated for the Siminovitch Prize in Directing and for the Ockrent Theatre Directing Fellowship SSDC, NY. She has won a Dora for Best Production of a Musical for A Year with Frog and Toad at the Young People’s Theatre and is a Dora nominee for Best Musical Production of Pasek and Paul’s James and The Giant Peach. In casting Jen has worked for Jigsaw casting on various commercials like Kellogg’s, Mazda, Dove, Bounce, Canadian Tire and more as well as assisting Tara Rubin Casting on the Toronto auditions for Mary Poppins on Broadway. She also currently works in talent acquisition for the Toronto Blue Jays, casting their live entertainment for 19 seasons. |
DANIEL BIRNBAUM - TALENT HOUSE
Daniel has been in this business as long as he can remember. Growing up, Daniel started working professionally at eight years old, in television, voice work and professional theatre. He then continued his education at Sheridan College in their Music Theatre Performance Program. Upon graduation, Daniel found himself moving behind the scenes; directing and producing his own work, teaching theatre, and in casting, which lead him to The Talent House, where Daniel's been overseeing both On Camera and Youth Divisions for the last twelve years. Known for his ability to develop new and undiscovered talent, Daniel prides himself on a busy and diverse roster of talent, whose credits span top Network, Cable and Streaming Platforms, Animated Series and Film, Theatre and more; both nationally, and internationally.

CAT MACFARLANE - DACOSTA TALENT AGENCY
Catriona McFarlane has over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of live entertainment. She is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and attained her master’s degree in Theatre from the University of Toronto.
Cat started her career as a performer in Toronto where she quickly discovered her passion for the art of production. Cat became a professional Stage Manager for various companies in Toronto until she was hired by Stage West Mississauga as Production Stage Manager where she stayed for 14 seasons, casting and producing over 68 musicals and plays in her tenure. In that time, she developed key relationships with top Directors, choreographers and guest Artistic Directors from across Canada. In working with such a wide variety of artists, Cat developed a sharp eye for scouting quality talent at various stages of development. Her communication skills, positive demeanour and professionalism made her one of the most sought-after Stage Managers in Canadian Theatre. In order to hone her skills in key aspects of the entertainment industry, Cat worked as an Artistic Administrator for the City of St. Catharines and a Production Assistant with the City of Brampton. To further develop her skills, Cat has been a producer for concert and sports entertainments events including the 2015 North American Indigenous games opening and closing events, concert performances with Falls view Casino and Scotiabank arena, Niagara Falls and more. Since 2019, Cat has had the great fortune to join the best agency in Canada and has brought her connections and passion to all of her clients. She has thrived working with talent both in the beginning of their careers as well as established Canadian artists. Booking credits have ranged from Feature Films, Series, to Mirvish and US National Tours. Cat works strategically with each client closely to navigate and help artists grow their resumes and careers.
